Pranay Agarwal

Hi, I'm Pranay πŸ‘‹

By day I'm at BrowserStack, trying to keep up with whatever AI shipped this week β€” while figuring out how to run it at production scale without emptying the company's balance sheet.

Five years in, I've driven the full circuit: cloud and CI/CD as a DevOps engineer, everything-everywhere as a startup's earliest engineer, and now AI systems at production scale. I write about what breaks along the way.

Off the clock

Sundays are for Formula 1 β€” though I'm not sold on the electric cars this season; I'm only watching for Verstappen. When I can log off for longer, it's treks in the mountains and road trips long enough that the drive becomes the destination.

Now

I'm an early member of BrowserStack's AI team β€” a crew formed to make the company AI-native. I build and scale production agents, and along the way picked up an entirely new way of shipping software (the AI SDLC: half engineering, half prompt diplomacy). A growing part of the job is spotting the gaps in how the team works and filling them with the right AI tech β€” so we spend less of our time on the less important stuff.

The plot so far

  1. Everstage

    Senior Software Engineer, Full-stack 2022 β€” 2024

One of the earliest engineers at a fast-moving startup, which is a job title that secretly means β€œall of them”. Took features from product brief to production β€” frontend, backend, the research in between, and the deployment at the end β€” and set up the Kafka infrastructure from scratch: the backbone every high-throughput system quietly leans on.

  2. Quantiphi

    DevOps Engineer 2021 β€” 2022

Started my career here and learned that the cloud is just someone else’s computer that can page you at 3 a.m. Ran deployments, CI/CD, and AWS networking for 25+ microservices, cut cloud costs by 85%, and picked up the AWS Solutions Architect certification to make it official.

  3. IIIT Bhubaneswar

    B.Tech, Computer Science 2017 β€” 2021

Where the whole road trip started.

Writing

Nothing here yet. Writing is less a passion and more a promise I keep making to myself. When it lands, expect notes on the latest tech I'm reading β€” or the classic deep-dive kind, if the AI wave ever slows down long enough.
